Is your origin story sitting on the hire you button?

People who are ready to hire you are scanning for the offer, the proof, and the start.

Your story can wait. The visitor who already wants the thing you sell is hunting for price range or next step, a photo of real work, and whether you serve their town. If they hit a founder essay first, many of them leave, then remember you later as “that nice about page.”

Lead with the job they hired the page to do

Home page order: what you do, who it is for, proof, how to start. Put the origin story on About, or after the fold for people who like it.

Proof is not a slogan. It is a result, a named client if you can, or a photo that could only be your work.

Keep the story. Move it.

You do not have to sound like a corporation. You have to let a busy person hire you without a biography. The story still belongs on the site. It just should not block the door.
